Betts Environmental provides sonic drilling services in the Southeast. Sonic drilling is the most innovative and cost-effective drilling method on the market today. This new technology for drilling uses high-frequency/high-energy sonic vibrations to energize the drill tooling and allows penetration of that tooling through most any subsurface strata. Sonic drilling makes core sampling possible in bedrock, unconsolidated sediments, weathered rock formations and everything in between. The sonic rig also has an auto-drop hammer, in case standard split spoon samples are needed in sediments. The sonic rig in Betts fleet can penetrate and recover cores from solid granite at a rate of approximately 10 feet in 10 minutes.
